Questions about the roadmap generator
Does this use AI to write the plan?
No. Version 1 is deterministic templating. It takes the curated week-by-week structure from the Dropout Developer learning paths and spaces it across a calendar from your hours per week, your starting level, and your target date. The same inputs always produce the same plan.
Where do the video links come from?
From the free Dropout Developer learning paths, which are curated YouTube curricula. The generator reads a build-time snapshot of those paths, so the links in your plan are the same ones taught in the paths themselves.
Is my plan saved anywhere?
Only in your own browser. Your last set of inputs is kept in local storage so the page can restore your plan on your next visit. Nothing is sent to a server, and clearing your browser data removes it.
How is the total time calculated?
Each goal has a base number of study hours from its learning paths. That is adjusted for your level, then divided by your weekly hours to get a duration. If you set a target date, the plan compresses to fit and tells you the weekly hours that requires.
How is this different from roadmap.sh?
roadmap.sh gives you a static topic map that never changes and has no dates. This gives you a personalised, dated schedule tied to specific free video resources, with milestones and project checkpoints you can tick off.
